1. What do you wish you'd known going into your first campaign?
Hi I'm the city councillor for Kitchissippi Ward. My name is Jeff Leaper, I'm a new councillor, I was elected about two years or so ago. One of the things I wish I'd known going into that campaign was how important it would be to understand all the different logistics of a campaign. Somebody has to drop checks off at the bank, and when they're dropping checks off at the bank they're not doing something else. Who's going to receive 5,000 flyers? Whose house is it going to go to and how are those flyers going to make the way into my bag when I go door knocking? Who's going to put signs up and how many signs are we going to order? A lot of logistics that I think I would have been better off thinking a lot more about before the campaign started to save ourselves really a few months of spinning my wheels.
