Toronto Election Study (TES)

"The goal of the Toronto Election Study (TES) is to develop a detailed understanding of the attitudes and behaviour of voters and non-voters towards the 2014 Toronto municipal election. There is limited information about voting behaviour at the municipal level, a gap this project will begin to address. Toronto is Canada's largest city, and the 2014 Toronto municipal campaign is generating unprecedented media coverage. As a result, the 2014 Toronto election is an ideal case study of municipal voters in Canada. Our data will include a two-wave survey of Torontonians. Our survey respondents will be interviewed during the campaign and again after election day. The TES will identify what is driving the vote choices of voters in Toronto, and provide a clear picture of what voters expect from their new government. Academics, policy makers and the public at large will benefit from our research."
