About

David, his wife Danielle McGee, daughter Sophia and their Westie, Tater, live in Kanata Estates. David was born and raised in Beaverbrook and his father is a retired diplomat and the Gourlay family lived in Brussels, Belgium; Baghdad, Iraq and London, England.

David works in the private sector as a business consultant following a 15-year career in the Government of Canada at the political level and in the Public Service. David began his baseball journey by establishing the Champions for Ottawa Baseball in February 2012 and served as the volunteer President and co-owner of the Ottawa Champions Baseball Club leading all community initiatives from 2014 – 2018.

Through that process, David also co-founded the Miracle League of Ottawa that opened in August 2015 to provide children with special needs a fully accessible baseball diamond to minimize harm and risk of injury in sporting activities.

David embraces the communities he lives, works and plays in. He served on the Ottawa Public Library Board from 2010-2014 and was a Founding Board Member on the Ottawa Community Housing Foundation Board. In June 2009, David received an Ottawa Business Journal “40Under40” Award recognizing him among business leaders in Ottawa and in November 2014, David was recognized for his contributions to the local community with the Order of Ottawa.

In Sept 2014, David was named as a Top 25 in the Capital in Ottawa Life Magazine.
